The Pass road is fully asphalted and has a central reservation on many routes, especially on the Austrian side. On the Italian side, however, the road is much narrower and has no central reservation throughout. The Pass road is considered challenging - the combination of steep climbs and tight Hairpins requires experience and safe driving skills when dealing with alpine roads.
