Lüderenalp in the Emmental

Route details

Not everyone is familiar with Lüderenalp, but the narrow Pass road is well worth experiencing.

This Tourer has everything from adventurous narrow country and Main roads to narrow winding Pass roads and straight Expressways. We tried to avoid the large communities in the lowlands, but the area is densely populated.
We recommend very good driving skills for this Tour.
In Türlen we set off through the Knonaueramt in the direction of Lucerne. After Knonau, the first narrow and winding overland roads lead to Hagendorn, naturally without a central reservation. After that, Main roads dominate again until Abtwil. In Oberrüti, the Freudenberg is the first mini Mountain pass and the route continues on Main roads - some without a central reservation - to Neuenkirch. From there, the route climbs up to Ebnet in Entlebuch on overland roads, some of which are very narrow and well surfaced - all without a central reservation. Main road no. 10 then takes you through the Entlebuch. In Trubschachen, the route leads past the Kambly biscuit factory, a snack stop would be worthwhile for biscuit fans. Shortly afterwards, the ascent to Lüderenalp begins via Bäregghöhe. The Pass road is narrow and very winding, and the surface is a little bumpy in places. But in the end, it's worth the effort to get to Lüderenalp: what a view! The road down to Wasen in Emmetal is just as bumpy again. From Wasen, the Main road leads to Ettiswil and from Wauwil there are some more adventurous sections, mostly without center lines. Then via Tringen to Sarmenstorf, Muri, Affoltern am Albis and back to the Türlersee. And now off into the Türlersee for a swim, you've earned it!
