This half-day tour connects Bari with the hill towns of the Valle d'Itria, past olive groves, white villages and views of the Adriatic Sea. An enjoyable Tour for motorcyclists who want to experience Puglia's landscape and way of life.
Your start is right by the sea: on the city beach Pane e Pomodoro in Bari, you can already feel the salty Adriatic climate in the morning, while the city skyline with its promenade and old town starts the day behind you. The beach itself is not a secluded paradise, but it is ideal for a quick dip in the clear water before or after your Tourer and watching the locals go about their business.
From here, head into the hinterland towards Martina Franca. The further you get from the coast, the more the scenery changes: flat coastal plains turn into rolling hills, interspersed with old stone walls, vines and countless olive trees. Martina Franca itself is an elegant baroque town in the heart of the Valle d'Itria - narrow, winding streets, bright palazzi, small squares where the everyday life of the locals takes place. An ideal stop to take off your Helmet and stroll through the narrow streets of the old town.
On the way to Ostuni, the landscape opens up even further. Trulli houses with their conical roofs, typical of this region, keep popping up to the left and right. Ostuni, the "White City", is enthroned on a hill and shines from afar on sunny days. At the top of the old town, you can look out over a sea of olive trees all the way down to the Adriatic coast - a panorama that perfectly matches the relaxed motorcycle atmosphere.
The route continues to Fasano, where the coast and hinterland meet. In the surrounding area, you will find beach bays as well as country estates and masserias. Between olive groves, small villages and occasional glimpses of the sea, you finally roll back northwards towards Bari.
Finally, you come full circle almost at the same point where you started - not far from the Lungomare and the lively city of Bari. If you still have energy left after the Tourer, dive into the alleyways of Bari Vecchia, watch the women making orecchiette on the "pasta street" or enjoy a cool beer in one of the piazzas in the old town.
A compact, varied tour where you can experience the sea, hills and historic places - without stress, but with a great Puglia feeling.
