Four very winding Mountain passes in Central Switzerland with challenging sections: Ibergeregg - Wägitalersee

Shortly after the start in Sihlbrugg, the route in Neuheim takes you along a very narrow, dirt track-like road with a very old asphalt surface; there wouldn't even be room for a central reservation here - an adventure! From Menzingen, the route continues on overland roads to Schindeleggi (wonderful views over the Lake Zurich region!), up to Biberbrugg and then over the Ratenpass to Oberägeri. The Ratenpass is a great winding section with a good road surface and a constant central reservation. At Morgarten on Lake Aegeri you come to the battle memorial from the Battle of Morgarten in 1315, a battle steeped in myth that was groundbreaking for the then still very young Swiss Confederation. From there, the route follows the Expressway to Schwyz and via Rickenbach up over the Ibergeregg Mountain pass. A wonderful Pass road, very winding and without a center line throughout. From Oberiberg, the route follows the Sihlsee lake to Willerzell and from there over the Sattelegg pass into the Wäggital valley, also very winding and without a central reservation.
At Lake Wägital, we recommend a stop at the Stausee Restaurant and then a tour of the lake. However, the road around the Wägitalersee is narrow and the asphalt surface, which is very old in places, is reminiscent of a mogul slope. Very demanding and not suitable for road/racing bikes! Then it's back over the Sattelegg to Willerzell and over the Etzel Mountain pass - the next Mountain Mountain pass - to Feusisberg. Here too: the roads and Curves are narrow! From Feusisberg it's a leisurely ride via Schönenberg over the Hirzel back to Sihlbrugg.
