The Tour leads over 3 Mountain passes in the Solothurn Jura - Grenchenberg, Col du Fuet and Weissenstein Pass - and offers not only leisurely cruising on Main roads, but also narrow roads and tight Curves.
The Tour starts in Schönbühl BE and leads north towards Grenchen on easy Main roads. From there, the ascent to the Grenchenberg begins. It is not a classic Alpine pass, but has all the characteristics of a challenging Mountain road. The route is very narrow, without a central reservation and has numerous tight Curves and in places confusing sections. A route with rough characteristics and an insider tip for lovers of "wild rides" on technical Mountain roads - not for racing machines.
From Court, the route continues comfortably on the Main road in a westerly direction as far as Reconvilier. From there, the ascent to the Col du Fuet begins. In terms of altitude, it is a small Mountain pass and not very challenging to ride. From Bellelay, the Tour then heads east again on overland roads to Moutier. The road is wide but practically without a central reservation. From Moutier, take the Main road via Crémines to Gänsebrunnen, where the ascent to the Weissenstein Pass begins. The narrow Pass road is asphalted, has no central reservation and there is often a lack of visibility on the Curves.
From Solothurn, the route then heads south again on main roads and country roads to Burgdorf.
