3 Mountain passes around the Entlebuch

Route details

The 3 Mountain passes Glaubenbergpass, Glaubenbüelenpass and the Lüderenalp around the Lucerne Entlebuch.

This Tourer requires good riding skills. The start is in Wolhusen, from there it goes to Entlebuch and then up to the Glaubenberg Pass. The road has no central reservation up to the Pass summit and is somewhat narrow in places. After the Pass summit on the Canton of Obwalden side, the road has a central reservation throughout. Shortly before Sarnen, the "Endlosen" road leads down to the Main road, another narrow route without a central reservation.

The route then follows the Main road along Lake Sarnen to Giswil. This is the start of the ascent to the Glaubenbielen Pass, better known as the Scenic route. The Scenic route also has no central reservation and is somewhat narrow in places.
After the Pass summit, however, the route descends the mountain again on roads with a central reservation. The curves on the descent are pleasant to ride and rarely turn sharply.

The Pass road ends in Schüpfheim and from there the route continues on Main road no. 10 through the Entlebuch. In Trubschachen, the route leads past the Kambly biscuit factory, a snack stop would be worthwhile for biscuit fans. Shortly afterwards, the ascent to Lüderenalp begins via Bäregghöhe. The Pass road is narrow and very winding, and the surface is a little bumpy in places. But in the end it's worth the effort to get to Lüderenalp: what a view! The road down to Wasen in Emmetal is just as bumpy again. From Wasen, the route then follows the Main road via Huttwil and Wilisau back to Wolhusen.
